simply desire more ease, peace, and presence in your life.
What is WATSU®?
WATSU® creates conditions that are difficult to access anywhere else.
Supported by warm, body-temperature water, free from gravity, and guided by the presence of a trained practitioner, the body is invited into a state of rest that is rarely available in everyday life.
Originating from Shiatsu, WATSU® is a form of aquatic bodywork that combines gentle movement, stretching, massage, and stillness in warm water.
The combination of warmth, movement, support, and reduced sensory input allows the body and nervous system to stop working so hard. As the body softens and the mind quiets, space is created for a greater sense of harmony, coherence, and connection, allowing the body's natural capacity for healing to emerge.
For some, WATSU® becomes a deeply meditative experience. For others, it is simply an opportunity to rest more deeply than they have in a very long time, or ever.
Why Julianna offers WATSU®?
My work has always been about helping people reconnect with the truest part of themselves.
Over the years, I have done that through coaching, leadership development, speaking, teaching, and dance. WATSU® became a natural extension of that work.
What I love most about WATSU® is the immediate exhale it creates.
Most of us are moving through life carrying more tension, responsibility, and stress than we realize. We are holding ourselves together, holding everything up, and often holding our breath without even knowing it.
The water invites something different.
It creates an opportunity to stop working so hard.
My background in coaching, dance, and human development allows me to meet each person with deep presence and attunement. Every session is unique because every person is unique.
In many ways, WATSU® is the practice of listening. Listening to the body, listening to the nervous system, and listening to what words alone cannot always reach.
What to Expect in a Session
Each WATSU® session is approximately 90 minutes.
We begin with a brief conversation about any health considerations, injuries, or intentions you may be bringing into the session.
The WATSU® practice then unfolds in warm water for approximately 60 to 70 minutes. Every session is unique, guided by what your body, nervous system, and spirit may be asking for in that moment.
The session concludes with time to slowly return from the experience, allowing what emerged in the water to gently integrate as you transition back onto land.
